Remove PDF metadata online

Clean document information, custom Info fields, and XMP metadata before sharing a PDF. Blink 2 exports a separate copy. Cleaning metadata does not remove personal information from page content or make the document fully anonymous.

How to clean PDF metadata

  1. 1

    Choose your PDF

Select the document whose metadata you want to clean.

  2. 2

    Clean the fields

Wait while Blink 2 cleans document information, custom Info fields, and XMP metadata locally.

  3. 3

    Download the copy

Save the cleaned PDF and review it before sharing.

Why clean PDF metadata?

  • Remove an author name or an old title from standard metadata fields.
  • Prepare a separate copy without changing the source PDF.

Local metadata cleanup

The PDF is processed in your browser without being uploaded to the server.

PDF metadata FAQ

Is every metadata field deleted?

No. Standard and custom Info fields, XMP packets, annotation author and date fields, and private application records are cleaned. Creator and producer fields are replaced and document dates are reset. Page content, attachment names and contents, and metadata inside embedded image data remain. This is not full anonymization.

Does this remove sensitive text from pages?

No. Metadata cleanup does not redact visible text or images. Use the redaction tool for sensitive areas on the pages.
